1. Who we are

TradieSite is a New Zealand–based website builder built for trade businesses. We are the data controller for information collected through this website and our platform. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@tradiesite.co.nz.

2. What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, and phone number when you sign up or fill out a contact form
  • Business details (trade type, suburb, business name) when building your website
  • Payment information — processed by Stripe. We never store your card details.

We also collect limited technical data automatically: your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. This is used to improve the service and diagnose issues.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide and operate the TradieSite service
  • To send you account-related emails (receipts, login links, support replies)
  • To send product updates and tips — you can unsubscribe at any time
  • To improve the product based on how it's used
  • To comply with our legal obligations under NZ law

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
  • Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics

These are standard SaaS providers with their own privacy policies. We only share what's necessary for them to provide their service.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how the site is used (via Google Analytics). You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some functionality.

6. Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated data

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you cancel, we delete your personal data within 90 days, unless we're required to keep it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of TradieSite after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
